Malta
The perfect place for a language study stay
Malta
The Maltese archipelago, composed of three islands, Malta, Gozo and Comino, is located in the heart of the Mediterranean, exactly between southern Italy and North Africa occupying a total area of 316 sq . Km .
The official languages of the country are Maltese and English, the latter being a legacy from the period when Malta was a British colony; the United Kingdom is the most recent external power. The Maltese culture is a reflection of the different cultures that, over the centuries, have come into contact with the Maltese islands, including the nearby Mediterranean culture and those of the nations that ruled Malta for long periods before its total independence. Malta has more than 7000 years of history. Land of great charm, rich in history, traditions and art treasures with a vast cultural and artistic heritage, testimony of distant domination over time, such as the Phoenicians, the Turks and the English.
The archipelago boasts a sunny climate throughout the year, while in most of Europe the climate is divided into seasons, in Malta there is almost never a winter period, which makes it an ideal destination for also visit in the months from November to March, and certainly a perfect place for a language study stay and to study English.
The waters surrounding the islands are generally considered among the clearest in the Mediterranean. Snorkelling, scuba diving, golf and boat trips are highly recommended.
The size of the island and the positive attitude of the Maltese also contributes to making this archipelago one of the safest places in the world.
Thanks to its climate, Malta is today a preferred destination for tourism in the Mediterranean. The predominance of rocky coast, while on the one hand it offers very few sandy beaches, on the other it offers a clear sea even in the city areas.
While Malta, the main island, is more dynamic and crowded especially in summer, due to the high number of tourists and students, Gozo offers a more tranquil atmosphere: here you can learn English in a picturesque rural landscape , also taking advantage of its attractions of historical and cultural interest. By choosing one of our partner English schools you can learn English in a seaside resort, without leaving Europe!
